Red fox (vulpes fulva) are found in most states of the United States, except for along the Rocky Mountains. They like a habitat of open country, forest. This one was spotted on a golf course in Pennsylvania to my delight. He was playing, snooping along the forest margin and batting at things he found. My first ever sighting of a red fox was also on a golf course--West Seattle Golf Course in Seattle (the view there is terrific).

One of my friends didn't know how to reduce the pixels in their photograph they scanned so they could add it to a Yahoo!Groups picture file. So I wrote this article about how to do it. On the Road--Dinosaur Provincial Park

The dinosaur display at Dinosaur Provincial Park is available during park hours. We hiked several trails in the evening. The best plan though is to show up for several days and get in on one of the guided tours. That's when they take you into the fossil beds and point out the work being done. The trails were there, but marked closed so we of course obeyed. The area is scenic with lots of sedimentary cliffs at various stages of erosions. Lots of desert plants and animals--but no snakes.

I spent a lot of time working on my laptop recording our trip and keeping up to date with my writing. This can be a chore and I'm just beginning to wind down and get unpacked.

Religion on my mind--Mesquite Cathedral, Cordoba

I'm just beginning to document my Spain travels online, but the Mesquite Cathedral was one of our favorite places to visit in Spain. For one thing, it's quite beautiful. For another, it shows the incredible flexibility of this country, using a Moslem mosque and converting it to a cathedral, but protecting it's origins in architecture and ornaments.

I always deem religion to be an artifact of society--a place for like-minded people to connect. But there's also the spiritual part that has been witnessed in brain activity although not well understood.

The Will to Live

I took this photograph because it shows immense will to live. What else can you call it when someone or something fits themselves into a little niche, sets roots, drinks the rain, and proceeds to flower despite all odds of wind, sun, and prying hands and feed?
