MS Photo Editor instructions
One of my friends didn't know how to reduce the pixels in their photograph they scanned so they could add it to a Yahoo!Groups picture file. So I wrote this article about how to do it. The task is rather simple and most PC's come with the basic Photo Editor software so, try double clicking on one of your photo files and see what happens. Read more to learn the basic operations performed to a picture file.

A feather question...
We found this feather, probably from a juvenile bird that molted, in the Gingko State Park in Vantage, WA.
Avid birders like me and my husband are used to figuring out a bird but who does this feather belong to? When we figure it out, we'll let everyone know. But for now, if you know the answer, please say something!

Chinese Maple in Bloom
Underneath the leaves of the maples in Western Washington are a wealth of blooming flowers. This Japanese Maple has beautiful read and gold leaves with a gold vein and lovely little yellow flowers and the first of dainty red seed whirl-a-gigs. Check them out, it's lovely to see fertility in progress, especially on a day bleeding for the lost.

Dandelion heaven
These soft exploding universes were spotted near Reno. Ours in Seattle aren't quite this big or glorious--we like to pull them out before they seed everything. Dandelions are full of vitamin C and the deer graze on them when passing through our yard.
