A review of The Fortune Cookie Chronicles by Jennifer 8. Lee :: The Compulsive Reader :: A Haven for Book Lovers
Although all of the mysteries and history is very appealingly told, it lacks the heart that comes out when Jennifer 8. Lee tells stories about Chinese people that she encounters on the way. The tales of the average Chinese food deliveryman, of the Chinese food owner, the Chinese emigrants, and of family life is exceptionally strong writing.
